Areas of Practice
Collaborate to problem-solve effectively.
Born in the Middle East and raised in Hamilton since she was four years old, Lawin knows her way around steel town.
As part of the corporate and commercial real estate team, Lawin takes a collaborative and team-based approach to practise law. “Corporations have multiple parties behind their scenes, so you work with many different people,” she says, “but you’re working towards a shared goal, so it’s collaborative.” It’s a good thing she loves talking to people because her job demands it.
As a fashion enthusiast, Lawin has a keen interest in intellectual property laws. She wrote about copycat fashions in law school and discovered a great deal about the legal landscape in Canada and other countries around the world. Her advice to newbie creators is to get your IP areas covered, so you’re not left vulnerable.
