Our story has always been built in motion.

Our story has always been built in motion.

Long before the firm carried its current name, Jim Scarfone and a group of young Hamilton lawyers were commuting together on the GO Train travelling back and forth and learning in real time how to build a practice of their own. They shared files, ideas, and the day‑to‑day realities of running both a law practice and a business.

The work was immediate and practical. It relied on relationships, instinct, and a willingness to take on matters others would not. At the same time, the firm developed a reputation for being forward‑thinking investing early in technology and building systems that allowed it to operate more efficiently and strategically than many of its peers. That combination of practical work, local relationships, and a willingness to adapt shaped the firm from the outset.

That beginning still shapes how we operate.

Today, that evolution is visible not only in the structure of the firm, but in how we visually represent ourselves.

We have introduced our SH monogram. A brandmark that builds on the elements of our previous logo of our three vertical bars that had reflected where we began – a smaller starting point here in Hamilton – to the progression to where we are today at 1 James Street South. The new monogram brings those elements together into a single, connected form, creating a more unified expression of Scarfone Hawkins LLP.

It is designed to be clear, recognizable, and enduring. A  mark that reflects both where we have come from and where we are going.

It is not a departure.
It is a continuation made visible.

That same approach extends to the structure of the firm itself.

Over the past year, we have welcomed four new partners Matthew Cino, Jordan Moss, Alexander Smith, and Marc Ronca. These appointments are not symbolic. They reflect continued investment in the firm’s ability to support complex, long‑term client needs across transactions, disputes, and advisory work.

We continue to operate as a full‑service firm, supporting businesses and families across more than 30 practice areas — built deliberately, over time, to reflect how clients live and make decisions today.

What remains constant is where we do that work.

We are still based in downtown Hamilton.
We will continue to invest here.
And we are building something meant to last.

50 Years. 30 Practice Areas. One Firm.
