Paul Duff’s study of Devil’s Punchbowl recreates the nature wonder. Devil’s Punchbowl took millions of years and many glacial waters to create this feature that drips more than 108 feet.
Legend has it that moonshiners set up their wares along the tree line above Devil’s Punchbowl and thirsty road workers would hike to the top of the escarpment with 2 gallon pails to get cold water from the falls. They returned with buckets not filled with water but moonshiner whisky. The moonshiners were thought to be doing the Devil’s work, hence the name Devil’s Punchbowl.
